Wednesday greeted my two guests, Lonnie and Darlene and I with a stiff NNW wind along with much cooler temps. Once again, rigged with Reeves weedless jigs tipped with fatheads, we started out working wind blown bays that had the most weeds with wood combined and found a mixture of pike and walleye. First two stops produced a few decent eyes along with 2 nice pike, a 27 and a 30 incher were put in the livewell never to harass another walleye, not to mention great table fare. Much time was spent working various spots like these with decent success, for the most part the eyes were running a little small as we released around a dozen in between some real nice keepers, one here and one there. We also found limited action from deep wood and also tried drifting the shallow mud flats with fixed bobbers with in-line spinners tipped with either fatheads or 1/2 crawlers and found couple of decent eyes that way. It was a tough bite out there but we stuck with it and came up with a pretty impressive livewell of fish.
