Back out Thursday with my wife and we had some very good action from both walleye and crappie. Using 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with crappie minnows or a 2 inch piece of crawler, we spent around 5 hours vertical jigging in 13 to 18 feet of water over submerged stumps, old root systems, downed timber, and boated several crappie and walleye along with 1 big smallie. Many crappie were released as we only kept the ones over 10 1/2 inches, and that amounted to 17. A good number of eyes were also thrown back, many were only 6 to 10 inchers, but our 6 keepers were 14 to 17 inches and that makes for a great fish fry.

Back out today if the weather holds, will keep you posted.
