Mondays action picked up somewhat as my guest, Roger and I found some active walleye on our first stop during our half day trip. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with large leeches, we worked the base of an underwater hump that topped off at 8 foot and dropped to 13. We worked both top and the base of this hump for some time and picked up 3 nice eyes along with a few throwbacks, all the action came from the base of this hump and not a bite on the top of it. We then tried two different rock bars that were 6 and 8 foot deep and found only rock bass and 1 little smallie. Moving on, we then tried a couple of wind blown shorelines that had a good deal of coontail and here we found more feeding walleye. We boated another 4 eyes, 3 of which were nice keepers from these from these areas and then called it a day.
Back out on Wednesday, will keep you posted.
