Sunday morning started out with a decent breeze which slowly let up and that's about the way the fishing action went for us. Starting out in 10 feet of water over submerged stumps that have been a real hot spot lately, my guest Marge and I found the walleye action to be decent, but the problem was the action was coming from mostly smaller eyes, nothing you put in the live well but a good looking future crop of fish coming up. Didn't make a whole lot of difference between bait, leeches, crawlers, or fatheads, most fish ran small, but we stuck with our game plan and we managed to boat 4 good keeper eyes, 3 big smallies along with a very good mess of perch and crappies. Most all the panfish were caught on Reeves weedless jigs tipped with small fatheads and some on small pieces of crawler.
Back out today if the weather holds, will keep you posted.
