Back out on Wednesday for a morning trip with my guest Roger and found many active walleye and some scattered crappie. Using 1/8th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped large fatheads, we worked a good deal of river channel edges with a good amount of submerged wood and found a good deal of small eyes mixed in with just a few slab crappie. We then moved to boulders and gravel areas in 8 to 16 feet of water and once again found several smaller eyes and a good number of big crappie on the deeper rocks along with a 14 inch bullhead. Along with 12 big crappie, we kept 2 nice eyes and the bullhead, been awhile since I skinned one of these critters, since Roger didn't want it, I will have it for dinner Saturday evening.
Back out for another morning trip with Roger today, will keep you posted.
