Looks like my post got lost somehow. Anyway this 30'x 12" log rolled up by one of my fishing spots. Someone responded thinking it was part of an old time log boom apparatus. It tend to agree, but looking for more input. 2326723268

Could it be part of an old fish crib? Before the DNR issued guidance on how to build them, many were constructed log cabin style with metal re-bar drilled down through each corner. Just a thought.
Years ago some of the resorts ( cabins too ? ) would use long logs on the shoreline to stop it from eroding . I believe the DNR now requires some type of sheathing laid down , boulders on top of that , etc. You would attach a chain to the log with a stake in the ground on the other end of the chain . Bad thing was when they broke away and would drift at water surface level ... bad for the boat and props too !
