ESCANABA -- Update: The man found under the ice has been identified as 66-year-old David Breault of Escanaba. He was transported to St. Francis Hosptial, where he was pronounced dead.
Responding personnel say that a pressure crack had opened up, resulting in very thin and unsafe ice conditions that the four wheeler broke through.

At around 8:45 a.m., a fisherman came across a partially submerged four wheeler on Little Bay De Noc just south of Escanaba.
As they approached the scene they also noticed something underneath the ice which was later determined to be a body.
The snowmobilers then returned to shore where they contacted local authorities.
Gladstone Public Safety, Escanaba Public Safety, and Delta County Sheriff's Department, along with the Delta County Search Rescue and Dive Team did recover the body of an older man.
He has been identified but his name is not being released until family has been notified.
