Saturday greeted my two guests and I with fairly strong NNE winds and on and off rain showers/drizzle, not the type of conditions one would think is prime walleye weather, but we had some very good action. Plans before leaving town was to drift the shallow mud flats with fixed bobber with in-line spinners tipped with either small fatheads or 1/2 crawler, as it worked out, we didn't have any action on the crawlers but the fatheads was the key. After several drifts over this 3 to 5 foot deep mud flats we boated several walleye and not a single perch, crappie or pike. After we had 9 real nice eyes in the well, it was time to warm up with a cold one.
Back out on Monday, will keep you posted.
