Red Childress

We had difficulties boating a musky over the weekend but had some decent follows. On Saturday, I lost a very big fish on a 10" Red October Tube after multiple head shakes in 3 ft of water....one of those fish that stings a little even after 2 days of mental healing. We all saw the entire thing unfold in slow motion.
Sunday's crew were writing a book about Muskies on the Fly and the Allegheny River musky fishery. We hit some good areas during the rainfall but could only land a pike. The guys were casting 60+ feet using backhanded casts. Impressive for sure!
Water temps jumped 4-11 degrees (over the past 5 days) depending on where you were fishing.
I have also noticed the abnormal amount of Maple seeds (helicopters) littering the entire river for the past 10 days. PIA!
I had never had to deal with the Cottonwood tree crap floating on the surface either. That stuff is like trying to remove tissue paper on steroids from your line
