After a slower day the Smallmouth Bass picked up again for Tony & he was all smiles at suppertime. Tony once again went away having a great fishing trip, reuniting with some previous guests & meeting a few new ones.
23869
1st Timer Michael Skowronski from Philadelphia, PA was here to fish for Northern Pike. Well Mike the Pike had the time of his life catching some sizable Northern Pike all three of his days. He could not believe the beauty of the wilderness that surrounded him as he pursued his passion of fishing for Northern Pike. He also caught a very nice Muskie, his 1st ever, his 1st Whitefish & 1st Lake Trout, and also had a fish of a lifetime, a Musky, break his heart. After a little therapy he was back to fishing. Mike had a wonderful stay & made some new friends promising he will return.
23872
For over 20 years and 30 trips Jerry Miller returned with good friend Larry Beard from Erwin, TN.DOA these two got right into the Smallmouth Bass catching 8 fish 18 to 19.5. 1st day was even better catching many more Smallmouth Bass most over 17 with more trophies & Larry landed a 31 & 34 Pike plus a huge 42 Muskie. 2nd day had them catching over 20 Smallmouth including 5 more trophy size, up to 19.5 inches.
23874
3rd day was another excellent day for Smallmouth & Northern Pike & the 4th day was terrific having a streak where they caught 19 fish in 35- 40 minutes have several doubles and most were big. They also caught several BIG pike and Larry said the action suddenly stopped when he landed the biggest Northern Pike of the day at 38.5. 5th & final day they got into more nice Smallmouth Bass, some bigger Pike & Larry finished the trip with a HUGE 41.5 Trophy Northern Pike lading it on a leech with no leader. Both had a GREAT trip and look forward to their 2nd trip in August with a group of friends.
23876
Guest for 20 years Gerald Adams from Shawnee, OK returned with son Zack to fish for our amazing Smallmouth Bass. DOA these two went out & caught 15 nice Smallies in 3 hours with Gerald catching a trophy at 18.5. 1st full day was great fishing as they caught 32 & Gerald landed another 4 Master Anglers Trophy Smallmouth Bass between 18.25 to 19. For the rest of their stay they had successive days of 29, 31, 26, & 35 Smallmouth Bass with almost all being over 15, many over 17, and they caught 16 Trophy Smallmouth Bass between 18 & 19.5. WOW, what a great fishing trip & every night they had wonderful conversation with plenty of laughs with other guests they have becomes friends with over the years.
23877
Father & sons Robert, Kyle, & Scott Litchy from Avon, MN & Fargo, ND were with us for the 1st time. 1st day ever on Little Vermillion Lake they caught fish with Robert doing the best catching 2 Trophy fish, a 20 Smallmouth Bass & a 45 Muskie/ WOW!! What a start. The next two days it was all Kyle & Scott as they caught countless Smallmouth Bass including many over 17 up to 19. 2 days of fishing goes by fast & all left having a great time, making wonderful family memories, the biggest catch of all.
23880
Long timers Wayne & Todd Busdiecker from Centerville & Waynesville, OH returned for their usual 3-day stay. This trip was all about Northern Pike & after making some adjustments they nailed them catching many & seeing some monsters they could not get to bite. The adjustment made on day two was to size down, go simple, plus slow their retrieve way down. This made a big difference in their catch rate & teaches us that a change in presentation can make a big difference in how fish react. They made another set of wonderful father & son memories & left talking about bringing more family next year.
