Last Saturday after a rainy morning, when it was nice, we took a break and went bass fishing... really tight to shore w/ plastic scum frogs. One huge muskie quickly attacked the first and second casts. She did a follow and finally got hooked on the third cast. This all happened in about a two minute time frame.
We lost it at the boat, but saw it real good. 45" + fish, snacking on frogs ??? !!! 3 guys had a shot at this fish, made for a great story, which is why we do this !

Had the same experience last year fishing with my dad for bass, he ended up catching a lower 30" on a berkley powerbait kicker frog
The first musky I ever caught was when I was 14 years old in 1988. My Dad, grandpa, and I were fishing Sweeney Lake up east of Minoqua, WI. It wasn't going so good (we had just started fishing Musky in the year prior). I got sick of it, and put on a Foxy jig to try to catch bass. A few casts later...my jig stopped dead in it's tracks and I had what turned out to be a 36" Musky on. We released it, and my Dad said, "I can't believe that just happened." I also caught a 45" off the dock on Canada as I tuned some baits while we waited for the high winds to subside after we got blown off the lake. You just never know what is going to happen, but I do know that you can't catch them if you don't have any lures in the water!

Cool story! My second largest last year was a 49 1/2" fish on a jig and crawler. Crazy!
