Hi everyone,
Picked up Dave and Jim from the "CC" North boat landing for a full day of walleye hunting. The skies threatened rain for the first hour but then it became almost perfect weather with partly cloudy skies, modest SE wind, and comfortable air temps. Working the PROaggressive jigs through some really gnarly woody cover in 15-20 feet of water we were able to glean out 18 walleyes with 3 keepers, bluegills, crappie, perch, small mouth bass, northern, and Dave's favorite- a rock bass. We used my treble hooked ice fishing jig on the bobber rod and hooked a few walleyes and pan-fish with that set up. Water temps were 74 by afternoon and finally seems like the temps will continue to rise. We tipped our PROaggressive jigs with mostly leeches but did have some success on crawlers. As the water temps rise, the fishing will get better so make your plans for a walleye hunt on the 'Big Chip' soon. Good luck fishing everyone.
