Lots of nice fish are being landed by our guests.

Yesterday Kathy Johanning brought in a 10 inch Bluegill, the 4th Bluegill our guests have landed at ten inches or bigger so far this spring. In our 2015 Fishing Contest, our top ten Bluegills are between 9 3/8 inches and 10 1/4 inches. Lots of 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inch Bluegills are being landed from our docks. Our Walleye leader is Dave Jacobson at 25 1/4 inches. Numerous Walleyes in the 22 to 25 inch range have been landed by our guests.

Big Crappies are being measured and many are being released. The top ten Crappies in our Fishing Contest are between 13 3/4 inches and 15 1/4 inches. The 15 1/4 incher was landed by Steve Blakstad of St. Paul. Please remember that we run a fair and accurate contest. (Don't listen to what people say, ask them to show you pictures) These lengths have to be proven to be eligible for our Fishing Contest. There are no estimates. We squeeze the tail and close the mouth. Fish released alive have to be photographed on a yardstick and the cameras brought to us in the lodge or the pictures emailed to us. Clearly, a number of big fish never get in our contest because they were released alive without a photograph. We are strict regarding accuracy. We are not about exaggeration.

Lots of Pike in the 26-30 inch range are being landed. Only one Muskie has been landed by our guests (Linda Tyo) but reports of "Monster Followers" are numerous. Dan Tyo leads our Largemouth Bass category with a sweet 20 1/8 incher. The rest of the top ten Largemouth Bass are 18 3/8 inches or longer. A 19 inch Bass was landed from our docks by Cindy Hoehne-Lien.

Our top ten Perch are 11 3/8 to 12 5/8 inches. Top Ten Rock Bass are 11 1/4 to 12 inches.

Please come to Oak Haven. Friendly people. Litter free grounds. Relaxing nights.
