Not a whole lot to report on the walleye bite as it remains poor to say the least. The good action has been from the big crappie and bluegills out there. Deep brush piles, deep submerged stumps and cribs have all been holding good populations of these big panfish. Medium fatheads work the best for the crappie and a 2 inch piece of crawler the best for the gills, 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs work very well with this type of vertical fishing.
With the dropping water levels, it is important to take it easy out there, been hearing an awful lot boats hitting stumps and rock and gravel bars, I have been lucky so far, knock on WOOD.
Will give an update after next trip.
