In last year's Musky Hunt, my 48" beast didn't hold up to a 49" snake, and I took second place, otherwise known as first loser. So when I hooked up with this 51" hog on the first morning of last week's Musky Hunt, I was certain I'd won it all. Not so fast...

In the previous 16 years of the Musky Hunt tournament, there have been two, count 'em, two fish landed over 50". In less than 10 hours at this year's event, fisherman posted two fish over 50" with mine being the shorter of the two. The 52" winning fish was caught tight to shore on a orange / black pacemaker.

25 fish caught in the tournament with all but a couple caught on the first two days.

Mine came on a suick just like last year.

I know, I know, no whining. I caught the fish of a lifetime.
