Great day on "Pete"! John from Milwaukee booked a six person trip for himself and five of his friends for this morning. That’s too many for one boat so I asked Matt Johannes from the Petenwell Sport Shop if he would take three in his boat and I would take three in mine. John, Tom, and Bill were in my boat and we headed for the sharp break on the buoy line and vertical jigged minnows and crawlers. Matt went to a channel edge to the north and soaked dead rods with minnows. Both boats had well over 75 fish each with Matt boating 1 "keeper", and 3 in the slot. My group had 6 "keepers", and no slot fish.
The fall bite is really starting to pick-up. Now is the time to get in on some of the action. There is usually quite a few open dates at this time of the season If you would like to give it a try. :cool:
