With fairly strong NW winds blowing yesterday, my guest and I decided to try some deeper water and our first stop was just off a 9 foot hump that dropped down to 15 foot with plenty of submerged wood, an ideal place or so it looked, not a bite. We then moved to 12 foot and bang, we hit some very nice eyes on our Reeves weedless jigs tipped with large fatheads. Working an area the size of a football field with plenty of submerged wood, we found not only our limits of nice quality eyes, but a good deal of slightly smaller ones mixed in with them, just an awesome morning.
Back out today with a group of four facing 25 mph winds with snow and rain mix, yikes! Will keep you posted.
