Sunday's late afternoon trip went very well as the SSW winds had the walleye up close and tight to the shallow wood and weeds. Using Reeves 1/16 ounce weedless jigs tipped with either large fatheads or 1/2 crawler, my two guests and I worked just 3 different areas to load up on some very nice eyes. Amazing how these fish react to the wind, when the winds kicked up, so did the fish movement, when it died down, so did the fish. These areas, filled with lots of wood/weeds mix and a maximum depth of 3 1/2 feet held good numbers of eyes with a mix of perch and pike. At days end, we had landed roughly 15 eyes with the largest being 23 inches, just an awesome afternoon of fishing.
