After our planned half trip on Thursday was cut short by an incoming lightning and thunder storm, our 1 hour trip produced just 2 eyes before we headed to the landing and called it a day. Friday's trip went much better as my 2 guests and I spent the day dealing with ENE winds, on and off rain and a continuing bug hatch. After our first stop in 8 feet of water over submerged wood and one nice eye on a Reeves weedless jig tipped with a large fathead, we then spent most of the day working these same depths. Working a good number of these spots, some humps and a few wooded shorelines we managed our 9 nice eyes by days end, not a hot bite my any means but we got them. Wasn't till later in the day that we noticed some mayflies joining the other bugs that were popping up from the bottom, guess that explains the slow bite.
