Friday's lingering cold front had the walleye bite on the slow side and relating to deeper water. My guest and I doing a morning trip found the majority of the nice eyes we boated in 8 feet of water over submerged stumps and just two shallower. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with large fatheads, we found 7 of our nine eyes in 8 foot depths, 4 good keepers and 3 throwbacks. Our final 2 keepers came from 4 foot in newly forming weeds, tough bite but we got our fish.
Back out today with my son and really looking forward to this day, will keep you posted.
