Wednesday greeted my 2 guests and I with much needed break in the weather, no high winds, no rain, and a little warmth, relief. Plans for the day were to go mostly for panfish and for walleye if needed. Both of these plans worked out for us as we got all species just fishing for the panfish. Started out working shallow reeds and found only 1 big gill along with a couple small pike. We then went deep and vertical jigged many cribs with 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with medium fatheads or a 2 inch piece of crawler and this worked real good for us. Several big gills along with some nice jumbo perch and 2 big slab crappie along with 5 real nice eyes by days end, lots of tasty filets. On a different note, all the gills and crappie we cleaned had not spawned yet. Lots of bugs hatching out there to keep the fish happy.
Back out today, will keep you posted.
