The past two days has seen different weather conditions but some fairly good walleye action. Doing two half day trips on Thursday, my guests and I worked mostly 8 to 15 feet of water over submerged wood with Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either large fatheads or 1/2 crawler and came up with some pretty nice eyes. With fairly calm winds, we worked these areas very slowly trying to keep our bait as close to the bottom s possible and this worked better than the regular jigging motion. Slower the better produced 10 nice eyes. Fridays weather was totally different as we had pretty good SE winds blowing and a much different bite. My guest and I fished mostly shallow wind blown bogs and fresh weeds and found scattered action from the eyes. Sticking to our game plan, we managed to boat 6 eyes, 4 of which were very nice flowage eyes before we decided to get off the water due to the oncoming thunder storm. All our fish except for one were taken on crawlers.
Back out today for a half day trip, will keep you posted.
