Vintage Pacemaker

I have 2 old wood Pacemakers that are in need of middle hooks.
I'm worried that if I use a small ring it will hit to much of the blade.
Can I somehow add a new hook?

If you open the gap on the screw eye just enough to get a new hook on you'll be fine.
