Was out on Wednesday and again on Saturday and the action ranged from decent to very good. Doing a morning trip on Wednesday, my two guests and I found limited action from the walleye but action from pike and smallmouth made up for that. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with 1/2 crawlers, we worked mostly 12 foot depths with wood and found just 3 eyes along with 3 smallies and a handful of skinny pike. We did try some mid lake humps and shallow weeds but no luck there. Saturday was a different story and my guest and good friend Roger and I found immediate action in 3 foot of water up against weedy shorelines with a NW wind blowing into and came up with just 1 eye and at least 10 pike, one which was a good keeper. Moving on, we then tried the 12 foot depths with wood and here we not only found our 5 remaining eyes but 2 keeper smallies along with 1 in the slot throwback, all on Reeves weedless jigs and 1/2 crawler.
