Wednesday greeted my 2 guests and I with fairly strong WNW winds and that made for some tough fishing conditions. Working a wind blown shoreline didn't fare too well as we only boated two small throw back eyes and a small pike, got out of there quickly as winds increased. Tried drifting shallow mud flats with bobber and spinner rigs to no avail. We then moved to areas where we were mostly out of the heavy winds and here we picked up a couple keeper eyes around some downed trees. Next stop was working a variety of shorelines around islands in and out of the winds and here we picked up some real nice smallies and another 4 keeper eyes and a slim jim pike before calling it a day. All fish were taken on 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either 1/2 crawler or large fatheads.
