Wind, rain, and mayflies was the best way to describe Sunday, but the fishing action wasn't all that bad. My two guests and I spent the day working shallow wind blown shorelines with weeds or scattered wood along with sharp drops with mud bottom or submerged wood and found a very good variety of fish, including walleye, pike, smallies, perch, bluegills and sunfish, won't mention all the rock bass we tossed back. The shallow windblown shorelines produced very little action, shallow weedy bays produced only small pike and small perch. The deeper water, 8 to 10 foot produced most of our walleye, larger pike, larger perch, gills and sunfish. All fish were taken on Invasion jigs tipped with 1/2 crawler.
