Sue and Carl from Peoria, IL booked a morning trip on "Pete" today. Neither of them had never been to this area of Wisconsin, and have never really fished for walleyes before. We started the morning jigging and soaking dead rods, which is my usual presentation to start the morning. We boated a bunch of "shorties", 1 nice "keeper", a northern, some white bass, and cats. They have never heard of, or seen planer boards in use so we finished the day pulling cranks. We boated 2 more "keepers", more "shorties", and catfish. By the time we started to troll, the little wind we had to start the morning had died to nothing and the algae was getting really thick when we left at 11 am.
