We decided not to chase trout on Sunday based on the morning weather forecast (lightning). It ended up being a pretty decent day around my house and probably could have fished most of the day without even getting too wet. Last nite was a much different story. In lieu of fishing, I did get a bunch of leaders tied, new/serviced reels were changed over, replaced some line and sharpened several new lures. It wasn't a total wasted day.

Anyway, we have a 9-day Spring Break starting on Friday and I am planning on chasing muskies and/or big browns on 8 of those days.

Stay tuned.

We actually fished for Trout on Sunday and it was a pretty good day. Good thing we we left prior to the Tornado hitting around Starbrick. Kind of crazy.

The wall cloud was over our house while it was pounding Starbrick. My house kinda overlooks the Starbrick area. Another narrow miss for the second time in about 4 years!

That's crazy! Funnel cloud went around Indiana according to the radar. I sat under a canoe on shore down from Warren a bunch of years ago during a tornado outbreak that hit south of Starbrick. We ended up waiting it out and fishing the rest of the day! Prior to weather apps of today, it was way crazier dealing with mother nature. Now we look at forecasts, pressure, flow rates, fishing reports, etc. and then plan accordingly often cancelling if things aren't perfect. Forty years ago you'd just go no matter what.

Yes we would. Back in my younger days, I used to purposely chase big storms with the hoping the falling barometer would get some BIG fish action. After those folks were killed by lightning while running to their cars at a launch in NW PA several years ago, I got a little smarter. A buddy and I were night fishing during that same storm and got pounded.
