The walleye action the past two days went from good to not so good thanks to the strong North winds huffing and puffing yesterday. Saturday, my two guests and I spent the day fishing various depths, structures, and found several eyes during the day, many small ones in the deep river channels while some very nice ones came from shoreline weeds n wood mix, while other came from 12 to 16 foot depths over heavy wood, all were caught on Invasion jigs tipped with fatheads. Sunday was a much different story, with north winds kicking up whitecaps, wind blown shorelines were difficult to fish but my guest and I did manage to work a few during our morning trip and found only a few scattered pike. My favorite deep wooded spots produced one decent eye and a nice pike and that was it, we did locate a good number of small eyes in the deep channels but that was it, tough day, released our fish to live another day.
Back out every day this week, will keep you posted.
