Red Childress

We hit the water at 5:45am yesterday with the hopes of getting Sam and his 12yr. old son their first muskies. After a nice fish followed his son’s RB7 to the boat and a decent follow on Sam’s bait about 45 minutes later we moved to another ‘high confidence’ area. That is where Sam had his first musky blow up on his bait. After a little thrashing on the surface, the fish came unbuttoned around 10am. We continued fishing until noon with no more action and decided the fishing window had closed for the afternoon.
I am taking a 5-day break from the river but I might find myself fishing with Andy on Chautauqua early next week depending on Lake temps.
River temps were 67 to 72 depending on proximity to Kinzua Dam. Water is low and before attempting to run the Kinzua to Warren stretch (especially), you better know what you are doing.
Happy 4th and Good Luck!
