Most of August was spent getting my boat fixed. Now, I am waiting for some body work to be completed after a mishap in the boat launch parking lot. Late-August is one of my least favorite times to fish the river, especially during these dry spells of low/clear water. So, I have been getting in some extra rounds of golf just before New York students return to school this week.
Let’s hope we get a little precipitation this month and some cooler temps to kick off the Fall bite. We used to have a killer smallmouth bite to look forward to but when hundreds of adult bass are killed each Fall, you are left with mostly juvenile fish to catch. The ecosystem needs time to repair itself thru Catch and Release.
I am climbing off my soap-box now. Thanks for listening.;)
