The walleye bite has been very good the past week and a half - Saturday and Sunday were again no exception. Activity levels continue to be high, especially during the low-light periods for walleyes as fish are greedily consuming medium to large shiners and sucker minnows rigged on Mustad treble hooks set below Frabill Pro-Thermal and Bigfoot tip-ups. It's been an excellent season already for both numbers of "eater" walleyes and slot fish (20"-28") - the fishery appears to be as good as it's ever been concerning quality walleyes! Both Saturday and Sunday produced numbers of legal walleyes, a few bonus pike, and multiple slot walleyes including the brute held by my good buddy Brett Jolly in the picture below.
