View from the balcony this morning. Got the houses down on the ice yesterday afternoon. Spent the morning checking ice and marking my trails to the fish houses. Nine plus inches of ice on the main lake, but a short stretch of 6" along the current area (pout hole for Gissert), so I'll wait a few days before pulling them around.

Some of the houses blocked by the tree, but at a balmy zero degrees, don't feel like walking out for a better picture.

Safe better than sorry.
We have some weirdness going on here.Driving on some lakes but some small sloughs have open water areas.
On a coyote hunt the other day I was paralleling the shore about 50yds out(water I've never seen open before)when all of a sudden I noticed about 10yds of open water existed between me and shore.:confused:
I retraced my steps.All the more strange cause we had 'clear'ice until yesterday when it snowed.
