Flowages Closing For Icefishing??

Heard rumors of the Spirit Flow, Nokomis and The Willow Flowage shutting down because of the low water conditions. Remember these are just rumors but we heard that the shanties on the Spirit had notes posted on them stating this. I will call the d.n.r. on Wed to see what the story is. Anybody hear anything?

This may be a really dumb question, but why would the low water cause the flowages to be closed?

Well could not find out anything, nobody new nothing about it so I guess it was just a rumor.

Its been my understanding that the flowages were reporting that they may not mark SNOWMOBILE trails on the lakes due to low water /stumps etc.[ For liability reasons]
I do not know this to be a fact. But it does make some sense of the rumers floating around.
