as we enter into January I'm finding that my December walleye tactics become less effective as the season progresses. on the lake i fish i set up in the evening on the shallow marshy end of the lake in about 3ft of water near a point. I use a med shiner on no.12 red treble on a 8 pound fluorocarbon leader. this strategy has proven successful year after year in dec. but come January I often find myself babysitting tip-ups. I wonder if the fish move to new feeding grounds but I just don't seem to have a clue at what depths or what tactics I should change (if any).
