Lake Erie Fishing thru the ice is now in full swing, we headed over to Catawba State Park yesterday to witness pure madness. They are pulling huge walleye in the 5 to 12 lb. range using Lake Erie's favorite ice fishing lures. Most are using Jigging Rapala No. 2 in Blue and silver, and firetiger, also sweedish pimples, and little cleos. Black and white, chartruese, but Blue/silver is been the best, naturally tipped with our Lake Erie Shiner minnows. Most are fishing 2-3 miles North west of Catawba State Park and Lake erie ice is @ 12 inches in most places. Minows are available at Richards bait shop, located on Rt. 53 north can't miss it just look for the 4-runners and snow mobiles. We will have more coverage on this topic and pixs later this weekend. One note of caution, stay close to the packs out there, some of my friends this year have already done the polar bear thing, by going out too far. Please be careful....
