Yes they work. I had one nail a grn/blk bladed one at boatside last Aug.

We've tried them with little luck over the years. Last year was the exception to that. We boated several on Cowgirls. I think they work on years when there isn't much baitfish activity shallow. Just an opinion. I could definitely be wrong on that one.
