I'm looking for a little more advice. Three of the lakes that I will spend time fishing do not have maps that I have been able to find. My current setup includes an older fish/depth finder and I have a handheld GPS unit. The only thing I can think of is to actually hand-draw a map of these lakes as I explore them. I have no problem doing it this way, but if there might be something a little more efficient, I'd be interested try it.

If you go to your local court house I believe that you can give them some idea of where you are going to be and they can narrow it down from there. I have heard that they are not too much to have made up through them I'm not sure though. Good luck!

Go to Google Earth and pan onto your lakes.

Guys,
All great ideas, thanks!! A couple of the lakes are pretty small and won't be much trouble. One is 2000-3000 acres, so that would take quite a bit of time.
