Went to CJ Brown Reservoir tonight with my father in law, K.O. Comer, Dave Brunner and Drew Waymire to chase some walleyes and crappie. It was my maiden voyage to CJ Brown and I have a lot to learn about the lake topograhy yet because I do not fish it in the summer months due to no muskies present. We set up near the dam and I placed a spread of eight tip ups in depths ranging from twenty-eight feet to ten feet deep, all rigged with medium golden shiners. We also jigged both jigging raps and rat finkee jigs, trying to coax a bite along the breakline. We had great ice conditions and I was marking quite a few fish on my Vexilar, but whatever they were, they had no appetite! We had a great time though and learned that the spot we were in tonight wasn't the right one! Off to Indian Lake on Thursday!!!
