The game fishing season has closed as of yesterday (Sun. 3/1) at midnight. Recent runoff conditions on Cherokee Marsh have left the water in a murky state, so fishing there has been spotty. Lake Mendota continues to attract a small number of Perch fishermen, which have been experiencing moderate success. Try fishing in the 65-70' of water between Maple Bluff and Picnic Point. There has been little to no reports of Bluegill action on Lake Mendota. Lake Monona Perch fishermen have been struggling out from Wyldehaven, but Bluegill anglers continue to have good success in the Triangle and Monona Bay areas. Lake Waubesa Bluegill anglers continue to have good success near Goodland Park and on the south end of the lake near Tower Rd. They are still catching some Bluegills up on Crystal Lake.
