The game fish season came to a close on most inland Wisconsin waters last Sunday Feb. 28th.
The ice fishing was reported as good the past week with a couple reports of limits of nice gill's caught on the westside of lake Waubesa. Another report had limits caught a few days off the east side near beach house bar and resturant. Had a few guys report the fishing as very tuff with only a hand full of gills caught. As of 3/4/09 the ice was 20" but with the recent warm spell and up coming 2+ inches of rain forecasted for the weekend this should really melt any remaining safe ice. The shorelines have been reported as melting and soft on the western sides of lakes with the increased sun exposure! Play it safe watch your step and don't fish alone.
I've got the boat ready today for open water walleyes and saugers off to the rivers to find the bite
