I know it's last-minute but wanted to thank Scott for donating a spring fishing trip to the Strawberry Creek salmon facility benefit in memory of Mark Opgenorth, a 35-year DNR veteran who died on the job in October, 2007 at the Kewaunee fisheries facility. The benefit will be held Sat., March 21, 1-4 p.m. upstairs at the Ladder House sports bar in Sturgeon Bay (just northeast of the new bridge downtown).
We have thousands of dollars in fishing and hunting gear, trips, art, carvings, decoys and much more to raffle and auction off, plus free smoked fish, cheese and crackers, snack mix and more. Bring your cash and checks to participate in the raffles and silent auction. No charge at the door. Also a great chance to talk with DNR fisheries folks from around the state, past and present, including former fisheries chief Lee Kernen.
