Crappies and perch were biting very good this past weekend....waxies and wigglers were the bait of choice.
Crappies are starting to enter shallow weed flats and it seems that the "holes" in the weeds were best. Myself and some of the "local boys" easily caught over 100 crappies, and kept a few for a get-together fish fry....
Perch are using deep sand or sand/mud transition, but we are also finding them on some lakes really shallow in thick cabbage too.
Attached is photo of a nice meal of jumbos...by the way, a full size filet knife measures 11 inches...
