Current ice conditions remain great for atv and foot travel with most lakes reporting 8-18 inches of good solid ice. some shorelines are melting with open water along some of the North shores.
There is some excellent panfishing action in the Eagle River area, right
now. Anglers are catching lots of fish, albeit many are small. However
it's great fun, and there are some nice sized fish being caught, in the mix.
Crappie action is picking up rapidly in the Eagle River area. Fish 8 to 10
feet water and look for any emerging green weeds. The crappies will suspend
at varying depths on the water column, and are hitting waxies or Berkley
Gulp. Some nice slabs are being taken.
Lots of furious bluegill action in the Eagle River area, but most of the
fish are on the small size. Kids are having a blast Fish 6 to 8 feet of
water, and look for weeds. Use Berkley Gulp, spikes or waxies.
The perch in the Eagle River area hitting strongly on wigglers. Fish in 12
feet of water or less, over sand or mud bottom. The perch are hugging the
bottom. Plenty of action, with some nice 12 inch jumbos mixed in with the
smaller sizes.
