A little bit more info on seeing all the fish with the side scan. If you look at the snapshot from the attached file, all the white objects are fish. This was from 3.3 FOW on May 1st 2007. The water temp was 48°F that day. Looking at the left hand side the narrow dark blue strip is the water column (remember, only in 3 FOW). The left side of this blue strip is the surface, right hand side is the bottom. I had the range set to 75'. I was moving at 3 MPH when I took this snapshot. Compare this to what you'd see with conventional sonar!
