Fished Green Bay again last night as the bite seems to be picking up. Needless to say, the bite just didn't warm up - it exploded. It was a night that only angler's can dream of. Four of us headed over and it was certainly a night to remember. Between the four of us, we caught and released 12 fish over 10 lbs. including a couple that were between 12 - 13 and one monster that pushed the scale over 14 lbs. The water was literally alive with fish. At times, we were disappointed to catch a 7 lb. walleye when you could see fish over 10 lbs. actively feeding and spawning in the shallows right in front of you. It certainly was a night to remember and felt even better knowing that all of the fish caught were released to finish spawning and to fight another day. All fish were caught on shallow running Thundersticks in approx. 2-4 ft. of water. Our water temp gauges showed the water temp. was at 42 degrees. All of the females except one had pretty firm belly's. One fish I caught was dripping eggs. It was great watching the males chase the females in the shallows bumping into them to knock out the eggs. Will be going again Sunday thru Tuesday. Another report to follow. Take a kid fishing.
