Happy Easter to all! Finally made it it out for the first boat trip of the year at C.R. Fished from 6:30a-2:30p. Boated one 25" Brown and had no other hits. Fish came on a glass perch Rap @11:00am. Sunny and calm till noon then the wind picked up a bit. Fished primarily to the south in 7-15 FOW. Two other boats had none, one had 3 splake. Water 37 deg in the bay and 40 in the river. Not too great yet-I think it needs to warm up some more. My first brown last year was on 4-22-08.

If I am not mistaken, the fish in the picture sure looks to be a splake.

White edge on fins definetely char family (lake or brook). Slight fork in tail ie between lake (large fork) and brook (square tail), definetly Splake (cross between the two. Wormlike makings on back but could not tell.

Too dark for a brown this time of year, as they darken up in fall.
