Hello,
Kakagi (Crow) Lake, Lake of the Woods and all of the smaller area lakes are still ice covered. I did not see anyone driving out or ice fishing. Along the shorelines, starting to see water but many places the ice is still tight to shore and most of of the ice looks white. Even if we had perfect ice melting weather it would be more then a week before putting boats out - I will be keeping an eye on the ice while starting to prepare for another exciting season.
On my journey north it was about Cloquet MN where I started seeing lakes with ice on them.
The cabins look to have survived another winter in pretty good shape. A few branches to clean-up and frost just starting to come out of the ground. Our electricty is on, Internet is working and Girlie is patroling the grounds! Even on a grey day with cold weather - life is good at Boreal Bay Lodge.
Regards,
