Ice on Kakagi (Crow) Lake has not changed a whole lot this past week. It is getting thinner and the docks are floating - so starting to see some signs of progress. Most days have been making it to near 50 degrees, but the nights are cold enough to add a fresh layer of ice. Mostly cooler weather predicted for the coming week, so I don't think Kakagi will be open for the first weekend in May. The predicted rains this past week missed us -- other then a few stray drops.
Sabaskong Bay on LOTW is starting to break-up near Nestor Falls where the current is helping out, but the back bays were still iced up. Some Pike action would be possible for next weekend, but our lake trout groups will have to wait a little longer.
Regards
