Opening day greeted my 3 clients and I to traffic jam like conditions, I mean there were boats everywhere, and in some places they were almost on top of each other. Thats opening day, lots of anglers who have been looking forward to this day all winter, I just hope they all had success.
Using Reeves weedless jigs and a variety of hairjigs, etc, tipped with fatheads, we started out working several shallow areas, rocks, old weeds, and a stumpy submerged hump, all these areas produced nothing but one big smallie along with some hammer handle pike. Moving on to the deep river channels paid off for us big time as we found many eyes along with some nice sized jumbo perch and one large pike holed up in these areas.
Back out today, will keep you posted.
